Picking up from our last tutorial. Practise your stitches by knitting some wash /dish clothes. To do the wash /dish clothes I would get 2 skeins of yarn (they have solid colours too).
Cast on 30 stitches and knit a square. Create one clothe with each stitch we reviewed last month.
For those of you might like to knit a scarf. I tried 2 different yarns from the Odds and Bobbs shop.
Kaleidoscope 100% wool
The stitch pattern was very tight for me on the suggested 6 needles. I took it to a 7 but as you would not have gauge problems with a scarf I would use an 8. The fabric drapes better.
The yarn is variegated so you should not get bored.
Croft Shetland Tweed
I just loved the Croft Shetland Tweed. This is a 100% Shetland Island Wool. The hand of this wool is just beautiful. My sample was a border of Moss Stich and the rest was Stockinette Stitch. I used 9 needles.
To begin knitting the scarf with the Kaleidoscope yarn, I would use 2 skeins and cast on 40 stitches. This yarn calls for a nice big scarf. Knit until it is long enough for your liking.
For the Shetland Tweed, I used a 9 needle and cast on 36 stitches. 1 skein would make a scarf but you would really like a scarf to wrap yourself in I would buy 2 skeins
